News National Leasing Wins an International Technology Solutions Award
Winnipeg, June 27, 2003
Winnipeg based National Leasing has won the 2003 Business Technology Solutions Award presented by the Equipment Leasing Association (ELA) for the development of their Securitization Administration System. The ELA recognizes that the innovative use of technology differentiates the highly profitable organizations from those that simply survive. The Business Technology Solutions Award is presented to leasing companies that demonstrate a technologically innovative spirit and help others become aware of unique approaches to market opportunities. The Securitization Administration System is a customized software application created to automate administration of National Leasing's securitization portfolio. "The benefits of the system are far greater than expected," said Ed Lowing, Manager of Securitization and Debt Financing. "Nearly the entire process has been automated. What used to take 12 person days to complete now takes one, which has resulted in huge savings for National," says Lowing. National Leasing developed the business rules regarding the securitization process, and partnered with Robocoder Corporation to develop these into a software package. "National has always relied on in-house staff to develop and maintain its systems," says Arthur Anhalt, Vice President of Information Technology. "But Robocoder approached us with a development tool they had built to speed development and implementation of systems such as our Securitization application. They helped us create the system on time and on budget, something you don't hear too often," added Anhalt. National and Robocoder are now in a position to market this system to other lessors. "With our expertise and recognition from the ELA with this award, the system could revolutionize the securitization process for lessors in Canada and the US. We are in a great position to further benefit financially from this development," says Anhalt. Headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, National Leasing Group is 100% Canadian-owned and operated with local representation in thirteen centres across Canada. National Leasing has been providing financial solutions for business in Canada and the U.S. for over 30 years. The ELA is a non-profit association representing companies involved in the equipment leasing and finance industry. ELA promotes the leasing industry as a major source of funds for capital investment in the U.S and other countries. Headquartered in Arlington, VA, ELA is a national organization with more than 850 member companies and a staff of 25 professionals. For more information, please contact:
